OREGON CITY, Ore. – Eric Harder (Fr., Bethesda, Md.) and Wes Heredia (Fr., Keizer, Ore.) led an impressive day for the Pacific men's wrestling team Saturday as the Boxers brought home six placers at the Clackamas Community College Open, held at Randall Hall.

Harder and Heredia each posted 3-1 records to place third in the 133-pound and 197-pound weight classes, recpectively. Jared Bridgewater (So., Hillsboro, Ore.) took fourth place in the heavyweight bracket.  Ryan Baxter (Fr., Craig, Alaska) and Caleb Malychewski (So., Camas, Wash.) earned fifth place finishes while Nik Streng (Jr., Honolulu, Hawaii) finished sixth at 197 pounds.

Heredia captured his third place finish thanks in part to a pair of victories over Division I wrestlers from Oregon State.  He opened the day with a first round pin over the Beavers' Peter Gidlund and won the consolation bracket with 3-2 decision over Hayden Kloss.  Sandwiched in between was a first round over his teammate Streng to advance to the third place match.

Harder opened his day in the 133-pound bracket with a first round pin of Southern Oregon's Joe Hutchinson before taking a first round pin himself to Eric Stevenson.  He closed the day with two shutouts, blanking Yakima Valley's Konner Hopkins 2-0 before scoring a 7-0 decision over Clackamas' Fortino Sanchez in the third place match.

Bridgewater rebounded from a first round loss to Sunny Dhinsa to win his next three matches and land in the consolation final.  He scored two pins along the way, knocking out Jory Hamilton in the first round of the consolation second round match before going over six minutes before pinning teammate Will Ulrich (Fr., Lake Elsinore, Calif.).  Bridgewater dropped a 5-2 decision in the third place match to Clackamas' Jacob Laden.

Malychewski amassed four wins in his march through the 184-pound bracket.  He opened the day with a 7-2 win over Oregon State's Tyler Sherman before dropping a 5-2 decision to Southern Oregon's Derek Rottenberg in the quarterfinals.  Malychewksi went on to pin the Raiders' Jacob Abrams and take an 8-2 decision over Clackamas' Joshua Nelson before falling 9-3 in the semifinals to Oregon State's John Tuck.  He was awarded fifth place thanks to an injury default by Clackamas' Austin Morehead.

Baxter sandwiched two wins around two losses to finish fifth at 141 pounds.  He opened with a third round pin over James Bowers and closed out the fifth place match with a 7-6 decision over Clackamas' Wade Humphrey.  Streng scored one win in the 197-pound class to finish sixth, taking a 9-1 major decision win over Southern Oregon's Gage Farris in the consolation first round.

Pacific returns to action next weekend with their final tournament prior to February's NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional.  The Boxers will host the Boxer Open on Saturday at the Stoller Center.  A scheduled Jan. 27 with Highline CC has been canceled.
