FOREST GROVE – Eric Harder (Sr., Bethesda, Md.) won in his final match and Ricky Ridela (Jr., Santa Ynez, Calif.) thrilled the crowd with his come-from-behind victory Thursday night, highlighting Pacific's efforts in a 39-6 loss to Warner Pacific in men's wrestling action at the Stoller Center.

Wrestling the first contested match of the night, Harder surged ahead after a close first two rounds to improve to a team-best 15-6 on the season at 133 pounds.  After scoring the match's first takedown against Josh Crager, Harder made his move in the third period as earned an escape and takedown and allowed Crager just one escape to take the 6-1 decision.

Ridela, meanwhile, looked to be on the ropes early in his 184-pound match against Anthony Thomas, who scored a pair of takedowns and held a 4-3 lead after the second round.  Thomas chose the down position to begin the third and never came up, with Ridela putting the match away with a three-point near-fall that secured the 6-4 win.  Ridela improved to 4-13 on the season while picking up his second dual meet win of the year.

The wins, however, were not enough to combat a major hole for the Boxers, who gave up 18 points before the match ever started with forfeits at 125 pounds, 165 pounds and 174 pounds.  Amari Sengsavanh showed little mercy to Shawn Speer (Jr., Battle Ground, Wash.) at 141 pounds, running away with a 23-9 major decision.  Jesse Johnson ground out a low-scoring battle with Keith Thomas (Fr., Fremont, Calif.), earning all of an escape and a technical violation point to squeak out the 2-1 decision.

Ricky Ridela (Jr., Waipahu, Hawaii) appeared to be on his way to the first stunner of the night, going up early 5-1 on Jawayne Fambrough at 157 pounds before coming back make it a 6-5 battle after one round.  Fambrough cruised from there, scoring takedown after takedown to go on to the 25-13 major decision.

Gunner Sigado (Fr., Redmond, Ore.) was outmatched by Brandon Morgan at 197 pounds as he too earned the Knights bonus points with a 12-4 major decision.  Miguel Simon closed the evening with the match's only pin, needing only 54 seconds to take out Bryan Hoffmann (Fr., West Sacramento, Calif.).

Pacific returns to the mats and tournament competition on Sunday, participating in the Clackamas Open in Oregon City.
