The Pacific University Boxer Club has named junior
Serena Wallace (Centralia, Washington) of the women's cross country team and senior
Brandon Boyd (Gilroy, Calif.) of the football team as the Boxer Club Athletes of the Month for October 2017.
Wallace ran a personal best time of 22:38.2 en route to all-West region honors at the NCAA West Regional in Claremont, California. She was sixth at the Northwest Conference Championships, finishing in a time of 22:41 to earn first team all-Northwest Conference honors. It is the first all-region and first team all-conference honor for the junior.
Boyd ran for 610 yards on 97 carries in the month of October en route to first team all-Northwest Conference honors. He had four rushing touchdowns and averaged 152.5 yards per game to lead the Boxers. In all four games in the month of October he ran for over 125 yards in each contest. He scored two touchdowns in wins over Pacific Lutheran and Puget Sound in back-to-back weeks.
