T-shirts that are ordered will be delivered by mail in approximately one week to the individual or the coach of the team.

Racquet Stringing

The Yakima Tennis Club will provide stringing service. Ski Chalet also strings racquets.

Warmups

Teams will be allowed at least one hour between matches, including 20 minutes to warmup, and every attempt will be made to allow teams at least 20 minutes to warmup on at least 1.5 courts prior to the start time of their match. If a 20 minute warmup is not possible, players will be allowed a ten minute warmup with their opponents. If a previous match is still in progress, the ongoing match may be moved to an end court, so that the next scheduled teams can warmup and start with their three doubles matches on time. At the completion of the introductions, the clock starts running on the warmup time, five minutes, or 10 minutes if the team did not have time to warmup prior to the start of the match. The tournament director and the officials will assist with keeping matches on time, but coaches should help enforce a timely warmup.

Morning Matches

The 8:00 a.m. matches will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Please arrive early to get in your warmup.

Shortened Match Protocol

If the team match is decided, all third sets will be a 10 point match tiebreaker. Third sets in progress when the team match is decided should be allowed to continue until completion.

Exceptions to these rules: The tournament director may stop matches if the team result has been decided and the next scheduled match needs to begin in order to stay on schedule. Both coaches, with the approval of the tournament director, may agree to have players play out a complete third set if there are compelling reasons to do so, such as ranking implications. If a team match has been decided, both coaches can agree to play the remaining singles matches using an eight-game Pro Set. If time is running short, the tournament director may strongly encourage both coaches to use this Pro Set format.

Finishing Matches Under The Lights

In case of darkness, matches will be moved to the four outdoor courts with lights. If two dual matches are still in progress, each dual match will get two outdoor courts under the lights, and the matches will be played in rank order descending from No. 1 down, unless both coaches agree to put on a match out of order.

Home Team Responsibilities

The high seed is the home team and will start the introductions five minutes prior to the scheduled start time, on the sidelines if necessary to avoid disrupting matches in progress. Matches must go on in rank order, three doubles matches first, singles from the top down in descending order, and the remaining singles matches will go on in order on the first available courts. The home team is responsible for starting each match with 12 new cans of balls, and returning used balls and unopened new cans to the tournament desk.

Tennis Balls

Official ITA Wilson balls will be provided for all matches, available at the tournament desk to be checked out and returned by the home team.

Match Scoresheets

The WINNING TEAM is responsible for turning in the top copy of the official scoresheet to the tournament SID with all results recorded. Record all scored and "DNF" for matches that did not finish. Use "DNP" for matches that players did not play.

Rain Schedule

In case of rain, matches may be moved indoors. There will be four indoor courts available for each match. Match priority is first round matches, semis, and championships. Third place and fifth place matches are subject to cancellation.

Warmups are limited to 10 minutes with your opponent. All matches will end once a team has won the dual match. All singles matches will utilize a third set 10 point match tiebreaker. Men’s matches will start with singles 1-4, followed by 5-6 and doubles if necessary. Women’s matches will start with doubles followed by singles.

If a match starts outdoors and is moved indoors, all matches will be played in rank order, and the third set will utilize a 10 point match tiebreaker, unless the match in progress has already started a third set. Matches that start indoors will be completed indoors using the shortened format unless both coaches agree to move outdoors. If a match is moved outdoors, a third set will be played out unless the team result has already been decided.
