Pacific University freshman Hannah Brandow
(Eugene, Ore.) of the women's swimming team was named the Northwest Conference Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday. Brandow set a new school record en route to winning the 200-yard backstroke at the 2018 Bruin Invitational, setting a new record with a time of 2:09.89 to eclipse the old mark of 2:12.75 which was held by Kristine Valdez in 2014. She also was victorious in the 100-yard butterfly (59.84) and second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:20.22).
Brandow was also a member of the runner-up 400-yard medley relay and third-place 200-yard freestyle relay.
She is the first female swimmer from Pacific to earn weekly honors from the Northwest Conference since Rachel Webster
secured weekly honors on Jan. 13, 2015.
