Box Score

McMINNVILLE, ORE.-The Boxers used an early penalty kick goal by Kizamu Tsutakawa, (Sr., Seattle, Wash.) to top the Linfield Wildcats 1-0.

Linfield (2-4-1) had an early opportunity in the first minute of the match to score after a Pacific (7-0-1) foul. Carter Elhabbassi was unable to get the ball past Boxer goalkeeper Andrew Stevermer (Sr., Gillette, Wyo.), who collected his first save of the match on the way to his fourth shutout.

The Boxers took advantage of a Linfield foul in the 15th minute to score the only goal of the match. Tsutakawa was awarded a penalty kick and found the net to give the Boxers a 1-0 advantage.

The Boxer defense then became an important factor to keep the Wildcats off the board. Linfield outshot Pacific 5-3 in the first half, but Stevermer collected two saves and kept the Wildcats from scoring.

Pacific held a 1-0 advantage at halftime.

In the second half, the Boxer defense was able to contain Linfield's offensive attacks. The Wildcats again outshot Pacific 8-5.

Stevermer had four saves in the second half to prevent the Wildcats from scoring and keeping the Boxers undefeated in Northwest Conference play.

The Boxers travel to Willamette for a 2:30 p.m. match on Sunday.
