Pacific Swimmers Fall To Loggers

TACOMA, Wash.- Both Pacific's swim teams fell to the Puget Sound Loggers 135-69 in the opening dual of 2011. Michael Hargitt* (Fr., Oregon City, Ore.) claimed first in three events to lead the men and three women claimed first in an event.
Hargitt won the men's 200-meter individual medley in a time of 2:17.65. He then returned to the pool to narrowly win the 200-meter butterfly by .57 of a second in a time of 2:24.10. Hargitt made his performance perfect winning his final race of the night, the 200-meter breaststroke in a time of 2:31.63.
Joel Cowley (Jr., Portland, Ore.) added the men's final first place finish in the 200-meter backstroke, finishing in a time of 2:15.66. Michael Simmonds (Fr., Sweet Home, Ore.) supplied a second place finish in the 800-meter freestyle in a time of 9:22.51.
Bonnie Rose Carroll (Fr., Eugene, Ore.) won the first individual race of the night, the 800-meter freestyle, by nearly 22 seconds. She finished in a time of 9:51.68. Carroll also collected a second place finish in the 200-meter backstroke, finishing in a time of 2:34.76. Allison Clark (So., Keizer, Ore.) added a win in the 200-meter individual medley in 2:31.78 and a second place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:51.25. Keely Craig (Fr., Federal Way, Wash.) added the women's final first place finish in the 100-meter freestyle when she won a tight race, by .37 of a second, in a time of 1:03.49.
Laura Ross (Fr., Eugene, Ore.) contributed three second place finishes in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:16.57, 200-meter butterfly in 2:35.40 and 400-meter freestyle in 4:56.93. Cherice Cochrance (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) also supplied a second place finish in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 29.80.
The Boxers fall to a 0-3 dual record and will stay in Tacoma tonight to face Pacific Lutheran tomorrow at 1 p.m.
