Boxers Fall At Southern Oregon
ASHLAND, Ore.—The Pacific wrestler's returned to the mat a day after winning their first dual of the season and fell 46-6 to the No. 11 (NAIA) Southern Oregon Raiders. Nathan Shay (Sr., Gresham, Ore.) scored the Boxers' only points.
After giving up three forfeits at 125, 133 and 141-pounds, Pacific could not get momentum on their side against the Raiders. Kody Kramer's (Sr., Oroville, Wash.) 8-2 decision loss to Dalton Urruita at 157-pounds was as close as the Boxers got to scoring until Shay's victory. Shay matched up against Nick Dumult at 165-pounds and pinned him after six minutes, 21 seconds to score the Pacific's only points.
Southern Oregon made quick work of the Boxers in the next three matches, claiming to pins and a major decision. Jared Bridgewater (Fr., Hillsboro, Ore.) came close to closing out the dual with another Pacific win at 285-pounds, but he fell short in a 9-6 decision loss to Sam Sprauer.
The Boxers will play host to the Boxer Open next Saturday at the Stoller Center starting at 10:00 a.m.
