FOREST GROVE—The women's tennis team struggled to get the energy they needed to push past Willamette in a 7-2 loss on Friday at Holce Tennis courts.
The Boxers (2-3, 2-3 NWC) could were unable to get a doubles win and headed into singles play down 3-0.
In singles play, Megan Yoshimoto (Jr., Mililani, Hawaii) defeated Shannon Palmer 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 2 position to gain Pacific's first win. Stephanie Velligas (Sr., Waimanalo, Hawaii) won a battle in the No. 4 spot against Jamie Slonaker 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) to pick-up the Boxers' second win.
Cat Goya (Jr., Kaneohe, Hawaii) fought Natalia Agarcheva at the No. 1 flight, but fell 6-3, 7-5.
The Boxers return to Holce Tennis Courts at 3 p.m. on Saturday to face the Whitman Missionaries.
