Pacific Falls To Ranked Claremont Team

CLAREMONT, Calif.—The Pacific women's tennis team ended their spring break trip facing No. 21 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on their home court and falling 8-1.
Pacific (2-7) claimed one singles victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (9-1). Megan Yoshimoto (Jr., Mililani, Hawaii) defeated Victoria Santoro 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 2 position.
Another competitive matche in singles play came at the No. 4 spot. Stephanie Velligas (Sr., Waimanalo, Hawaii) battled Allie Hsu, but lost 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles play, Yoshimoto and Cat Goya (Jr., Kaneohe, Hawaii) were defeated by Chloe Dobbert and Jessie Haung 8-4 at the No. 1 spot. The tandem of Velligas and Rachel Mizuno (So., Mililani, Hawaii) also lost 8-4 at the No. 2 spot to Brittan Sutphin and Santaro.
