SPOKANE, Wash.—The Pacific women's tennis team dropped a 8-1 match to Whitworth at Scotford Tennis Center.
Megan Yoshimoto (Jr., Mililani, Hawaii) won Pacific's (2-9, 2-6 NWC) only match of the day over the Pirates (13-2, 9-0 NWC). Yoshimoto defeated Alli Marshal 6-4, 7-5 at the No. 2 spot.
Cat Goya (Jr., Kaneohe, Hawaii) and
Kelsey Trujillo (Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii) battled to three-set losses for the Boxers. Goya loss to Rachel Burns at the No. 1 position 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (14-12), while Trujillo fell to Katie Staudinger 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8) at the No. 4 flight.
In doubles, Yoshimoto and Goya lost to Burns and Marshall at the No. 1 spot 8-2 and
Rachel Mizuno (So., Mililani, Hawaii) and
Stephanie Velligas (Sr., Waimanalo, Hawaii) also fell 8-2 to Staudinger and Erica Bosman at the No. 2 position.
The Boxers will play Whitman in Walla Walla, Wash. on Saturday at 10 a.m.
