PORTLAND, Ore.—For the second time in as many days the Pacific men's tennis squad defeated Lewis & Clark. The Boxers claimed the 7-2 match victory.
Pacific (8-8, 7-5 NWC) won all three doubles matches and took four the six singles matches from the Pioneers (0-16, 0-12 NWC).
In the doubles competition, the duo of
Scott Kawamura (So., Aiea, Hawaii) and
Michael Okada (Sr., Hilo, Hawaii) defeated Allen George and Quinn Roth-Carter 8-5 in the No. 1 flight.
Alen Suklje (Fr., Portland, Ore.) and
Patrick Kinghorn (Sr., Salem, Ore.) teamed up to beat Cole Pfeiffer and Kerry White 8-5 at the No. 2 spot and
Kolin Wong (So., Captain Cook, Hawaii) and
Evan Liu collected the third doubles win at the No. 2 position with an 8-6 victory over Sam Franer and Gabriel Trepanier.
In singles play, Pacific received wins at the No. 2, 3, 4 and 6 spots. Okada beat Roth-Carter 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 2 position and
Derek Cooley (Fr., Vancouver, Wash.) defeated Pfeiffer 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 3 flight, while
Mikhail DeWolf (Fr., Maddi, Cairo, Egypt) picked up his first win of the season beating White 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot.
Michael Furuya (So., Portland, Ore.) collected the final Boxers victory at the No. 6 position with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Trepanier.
The Boxers have sealed a fourth place in the Northwest Conference standings and will be playing the NWC tournament next weekend.
