Rudella Scores Game-Winner For Boxers In Victory Over Linfield

Nick Rudella (Jr., Sammamish, Wash.) scored the game-winning goal for the Pacific men's soccer team to claim a 3-2 victory over the Linfield Wildcats under the lights on Friday evening at Lincoln Park Stadium.
Just four minutes before the end of regulation, Rudella controlled the ball in a crowded goal box, when he shot from five yards out into an open net to claim the victory for the Boxers.
The Boxers opened the scoring in the 20
th minute when Mark Watson (So., Clackamas, Ore.) crossed to
Quintin Love (Fr., Kailua, Hawaii). Love shot from 15 yards out past Wildcat goalkeeper Scott Goodman, sending the Boxers with a 1-0 lead into the second half.
In the 50
th minute
Kody Ganiko (Sr., Makawao, Hawaii) found an opening and crossed to
Alex Arrington (So., Portland, Ore.). Arrington shot from 30 yards out passed Goodman to take a 2-0.
Linfield scored two goals in the next 15 minutes to tie the match up at 2-2. In the 51
st minute, Domenico Del Prete, shot off a rebound from 10 yards out past
Michael Summers (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.).
Wildcat Tyler Sedlacek was found in the 64
th minute by Jake Baker off the corner kick. Sedlacek shot from 10 yards out to the middle of the goal.
The Boxers outshot the Wildcats 30-18.
Jorge Mandujano (So., Corneilus, Ore.) led the Boxers with six shots. Summers collected his fourth victory between the pipes, tallying five saves. Goodman recorded the loss, collecting four saves.
“The team played very well tonight,” said Head Coach Jim Brazeau. “They competed at a high level for 90 minutes and scored some very good goals.
The Boxers (4-9-0, 2-6-0 NWC) will play host to Willamette on Sunday at Lincoln Park Stadium. The match will begin at 2:30 p.m.
