Rudella Scores Two Second Half In Loss To Pacific Lutheran

Nick Rudella (Jr., Sammamish, Wash.) scored two goals in the second half, but was not enough as the Boxers fell 3-2 to Pacific Lutheran on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Park Stadium.
After a foul on Pacific Lutheran in the 54
th minute,
Nick Rudella scored the first goal for the Boxers off a penalty kick past Pacific Lutheran goalkeeper Joe Rayburn. Rudella's second goal came in the 81
st minute, when
Garrick Knowles took the corner kick for the Boxers. Knowles kick it to a crowded six-yard box. The ball found Rudella as he headed it into the goal past Pacific Lutheran goalkeeper Sam Watkins.
The Lutes opened the scoring in the first half as Emmanuel Amarh fired a second shot from inside the six-yard box past
Michael Summers (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.). Amarh would score the second goal for the Lutes in the 48
th minute when Giancarlo Santoro crossed to Amarh, who shot from inside the six-yard box to make the score 2-0.
The Lutes would score one more time to secure the victory in the 68
th minute as Derek Johnson attacked from the left side and shot from inside the six-yard box to make the score 3-1.
Rudella led the Boxers with three shots. Summers (4-13-0) took the loss between the pipes, tallying seven saves. Rayburn collected the victory in the net for the Lutes, saving two shots. Watkins came into replace Rayburn in the 76
th minute.
The Boxers (4-13-0, 2-10-0 NWC) continue their three-game home stand tomorrow against Puget Sound at Lincoln Park Stadium. The match will begin at 2:30 p.m.
