Boxers Defeated By Missionaries In Dual

FOREST GROVE – Both men and women were defeated by the Missionaries, but Amanda Clark (So., Olympia, Wash.) and Jack Lloyd (Fr., Portland, Ore.) led the Pacific swimming team with first place finishes in the dual meet with Whitman, Saturday afternoon at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
 
Clark finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:15.71. She picked up two more first place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.99) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:23.28). Lloyd picked up his victory in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.84). He also finished second in the 50-yard free (22.54).
 
Allison Clark (Sr., Keizer, Ore.) collected a first place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:16.57. She placed third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:33.11. Michael Hargitt* (Jr., Oregon City, Ore.) finished third in the 200-individual medley with a time of 2:03.23.
 
Katie Porter (So., McMinnville, Ore.) picked up two first place finishes for the Boxers. She swam a 25.14 in the 50-yard freestyle and a 55.53 in the 100-yard freestyle. Paul O'Day (Fr., Forest Grove, Ore.) finished second for the men in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:58.83.
 
Janae Sargent (Fr., Redding, Calif.) led the Boxers in the women's 200-yard backstroke (2:19.62) with a second place finish. Dylan Cramer (Sr., Caldwell, Idaho) finished second in the men's 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.90.
 
Stacie Struble (So., Albany, Ore.) led the women in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:16.98. She also picked up a second place finish in the 200-yard individual medley. Gavin Nash (Fr., Cottage Grove, Ore.) led the men with two second place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.63) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:01.24).
 
Kramer Ichimura (So., Mililani, Hawaii) picked up a second place finish in the men's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.24. Alex Bing* (Jr., Roseburg, Ore.) finished third in the 100-yard freestyle.
 
Both men's and women's relay teams picked up second place finishes in both relays. The women finished with at time of 4:18.49 in the 400-yard medley relay and a 3:45.72 time in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The men finished the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:42.30 and a time of 3:32.68 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
 
The women were close to collecting the victory, but Whitman came from behind in the last two events to outscore the Boxers 104-101. The men were defeated 138-65.
 
The Boxers next meet is next week on Nov. 17, where they will travel to Walla Walla, Wash. to compete in the Northwest Quad. The meet begins at 1 p.m.
