Boxers Claim Second Victory Over Walla Walla

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – After claiming their first victory over Walla Walla, the Pacific women's basketball team once again upset the Wolves, this time with a 50 point margin, 83-33 at the Winter Education Complex Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
“I was very pleased with our all-around team effort and focus for this game especially coming off of a four day Thanksgiving break,” said Head Coach
Sharon Rissmiller. “As a coaching staff, we challenged our team with a couple goals for this game and the team responded well.”
Olivia Cook (So., Beaverton, Ore.) paced the Boxers with 13 points in 23 minutes of play. She shot 57 percent from the field and was 5 for 7 from the free throw line. She collected five rebounds to go along with four steals and one assist.
Paige Jensen (Sr. Bemidji, Minn.) led the Boxers in the rebounds with 15. She collected seven points to go along with four assists and three steals in 20 minutes of play.
Dailey Koga (So., Caldwell, Idaho) tallied nine points, hitting two of the Boxers' four three-pointers. Newcomer,
Kelsey Misseldine (So., Gilbert, Ariz.) also scored nine points, shooting 66 percent from the field. Christine Babij (So., Ontario, Ore.) was second on the team with seven rebounds.
Overall, the Boxers shot 42 percent from the field and shot 30 percent beyond the arc. The Boxers shot 68 percent from the free throw line. They tallied 26 steals to go along with 14 assists. The Boxers out-rebounded the Wolves 50-37.
“The team accomplished one of the most important goals we set for them with regards to our offensive game plan,” Rissmiller said. “We have a big nine days ahead of us, but I know this team is ready.”
The Boxers (2-0) return home this week will play host to New Hope Christian on Wednesday evening. Tip off is at 5 p.m. The Boxers will open Northwest Conference play on Saturday, Dec. 1 against Willamette. Tip off for Saturday's game is at 6 p.m.
