Meet Results | Day 1 Recap

FOREST GROVE – Quality performances continued to be the norm for the Pacific Twilight Track & Field Meet Saturday as another six meet and stadium records fell as the meet concluded at Lincoln Park Stadium.

A total of 14 meet records and 13 stadium records fell in the two-day events, which featured 19 teams from every level of collegiate track and field.  While not surpassing a meet or facility mark, Pacific's Kelli Aken-Pagdilao (So., Makakilo, Hawaii) joined the parade by tying her school record in the women's 100 meters.

Aken-Pagdilao clocked the second fastest time in the 100 meters in her record-tying mark of 12.67 seconds.  She finished behind Leah Walkeden of Voleo Athletics, who established a new meet record with her time of 12.03 seconds.  George Fox's Emily Davison broke the meet and stadium marks of former Bruin Cindy Walsh in the women's long jump, winning the event with her leap of 18 feet, 7.25 inches.

Competitors from Concordia (Ore.) led two record efforts in the throws.  Eric Whalen was a winner in the shot put with a record 57 feet, 9 inches.  Teammate Nate Moses had a record performance in the discus, blistering the old mark by 24 feet with his winning throw of 192 feet, 7 inches.

Southern Oregon's 1,600-meter relay team of Nick Perrino, Chase Bussing, Brandon Ritchie and Jonz Olander established a record with their winning time of 3:15.94.  Corban's 3,200-meter relay squad of Austin Koos, Ben Search, Jacob Bowdoin and Caleb Goins also entered record territory with a time of 7:49.80.

Adding to the excitement of day was the performance of Eastern Oregon's Robbie Haynie in the men's pole vault.  Haynie established a new NAIA season best with his vault of 17 feet, 0.75 inches and missed on three attempts at 18 feet, 1 inch, which would have qualified him for the U.S. Olympic Trials.

In addition to Aken-Pagdilao's record-tying run in the women's 100, Chloe Hallyburton (Jr., Dayton, Ore.) finished fifth in the women's high jump, clearing 4 feet, 11 inches.  Daniel Wagner (Fr., Kailua, Hawaii) placed third in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.04 seconds and Trey Oshiro-Atabay (Fr., Aiea, Hawaii) placed sixth in the men's long jump with a mark of 20 feet, 6.25 inches.

Pacific's season will continue next Friday when they take part in the Linfield Twilight at Maxwell Field in McMinnville.
