PORTLAND – Setter Emily Farnham (Fr., University Place, Wash.) finished with her second double-double of the season Wednesday, but the performance was not enough to quell a solid Concordia (Ore.) hitting attack as Pacific fell to the host Cavaliers in three sets Wednesday, 25-19, 25-13, 25-16, in volleyball action at Cavalier Court.

Farnham finished with 18 assists and 11 digs in the loss as Concordia (Ore.) roared to a .315 hitting percentage for the match.  Pacific (0-7) registered a .109 hitting percentage for the night, led by a nine-kill performance by Marie Rewick (Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii) and six kills by Alexa Block (Sr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.).

Concordia (6-5) finished the night with 47 kills, led by a 17-kill performance by Jackie Stein.  Brianna Hogan added 13 kills while Lindsay Mangan added 40 assists.

Pacific bounced back from an early three-point deficit in the first set to take a 12-10 lead on a Mariah McHolland (Jr., Renton, Wash.) kill.  Mariah Raudsepp won the next point for the Cavaliers to begin a six-point run that gave Concordia a 16-12 lead.  Ashley Jibby made it a 20-13 advantage with her service ace as the Cavaliers went on to the 25-19 win.

Concordia never trailed in the second set, building a 10-3 lead thanks to a string of three Stein kills in four rallies.  Amanda Goringe's kill extended the advantage to 16-8 and a Hogan kill gave the Cavaliers a commanding 21-10 lead.  Stein had two more kills in the final three rallies to secure the 25-13 win.  Concordia hit .353 for the set while holding the Boxers to just .028.

The storyline was much the same in third set with the Cavaliers opened up the 8-3 lead with a Jibby service ace.  The Boxers closed to within 10-6 on Becky Sheller's (Fr., Gresham, Ore.) service ace, but Concordia extended the edge to 17-9 on a block by Raudsepp and Melanie Miller.  Stein made it a 22-12 lead en route to the 25-16 victory.

Pacific opens up Northwest Conference play on Friday with a rematch against George Fox, who the Boxers opened the season up with in a non-conference match.  The match begins at 7 p.m.
