TACOMA, Wash. –Nick Rudella (Jr., Sammamish, Wash.) scored early for the Pacific men's soccer team but the goal was not enough in 2-1 loss against Puget Sound at Lower Baker field.

After a save by Michael Summers (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.), Mark Watson (So., Clackamas, Ore.) found Rudella in the 15th minute. Rudella would fire past Puget Sound goalkeeper Chris McDonald to make the score 1-0.

After two fouls on Pacific, the Loggers would score the game-tying goal in the 48th minute off a Landon Gauthier penalty kick. Gauthier would score the game-winner four minutes later on a cross from Sean Ryan.

The Boxers had an opportunity to take the game into overtime as Ian Farley (So., Spokane, Wash.) fired, but was saved by McDonald.

Summers (2-4-0) collected the loss between the posts, collecting seven saves. Seven different Boxers each fired a shot.

Andrew Shaw and Chris Shaw led the Loggers with five shots apiece, while McDonald tallied three saves.

The Boxers (2-4-0, 0-1-0 NWC) travel to Pacific Lutheran tomorrow for NWC action. The match will begin at 2:30 p.m.
