Boxers Record First Loss Against Linfield

MCMINNVILLE, Ore.- After shutting out their opponents three of their first five games, the Pacific women's soccer team recorded their first loss of the season as Linfield shutout the Boxers 2-0 at Linfield's soccer field.
The No. 23
rd ranked Wildcats took control most of the match, outshooting the Boxers 16-4.
Emma Vukic came off the bench for Linfield and scored the game-winning goal in the 27
th minute. Vukic would control the ball to the left side, shooting to the right corner past
Brittany Hartmann (Sr., Portland, Ore.)
The Boxers collected two shots in the first half, with their best opportunity coming in the 21
st minute off a shot by
McKenna Davidson (Fr., Kailua Kona, Hawaii), but was saved by Wildcat goalkeeper Taylor Collinsworth.
Emily Fellows, the 2010 Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year, capped off the scoring for the Wildcats in the 64
th minute. Stephanie Socotch found Fellows, who shot close to the goal on the right side.
The Boxers had another opportunity to score as
Morgan McClincy (Fr., Beaverton, Ore.) shot in the 65
th minute, but was once again saved by Collinsworth.
Hartmann (2-1-2) took her first loss between the pipes, collecting four saves. Four different Boxers all had a shot opportunity. Collinsworth collected three saves for the Wildcats.
The Boxers (3-1-2, 1-1 NWC) travel to Pacific Lutheran tomorrow for NWC play. The match begins at noon.
