PARKLAND, Wash.- After coming close to scoring a goal in yesterday's match against Linfield, McKenna Davidson (Fr., Kailua Kona, Hawaii) scored the lone goal for the Pacific women's soccer team in a 1-1 draw with Pacific Lutheran Saturday afternoon at Pacific Lutheran's soccer field.

“She needed that one as she has done some good things this year already,” said Associate Head Coach Dane Joseph.

Davidson scored her first goal in a Boxer uniform in the 38th minute when there was some confusion in the box. She took advantage and fired past Pacific Lutheran goalkeeper Marisa Gonzalez.

The Boxers would head into the second half with a 1-0 lead, until the Lutes would score the game-tying goal in the 61st minute. Samantha Benner crossed to Emma Wayerski, who found the back of the net.

Both teams fired off shots with less than five minutes to go in regulation, but both shots came up wide to send the match into overtime.

Dani McMurray (Fr., Gresham, Ore.) had the most opportunities in the two overtimes, shooting three times. McMurray fired off a shot with less than a minute to go, but was shut down by Gonzalez. “McMurray had a great outing today,” said Joseph.

Anna Richardson (So., Napa, Calif.) and McMurray each had three shots a piece. The Boxers outshot the Lutes 14-6. Brittany Hartman (Sr., Portland, Ore.) recorded her third tie of the season.  “Hartmann and Kaitlyn Harper (Sr., Oregon City, Ore.) were absolutely fantastic this weekend,” Joseph said. “Our success is in large part due to them encouraging and bringing along the younger ones.”

The Boxers (3-1-3, 1-1-1 NWC) continue Northwest Conference action as they host Whitman on Saturday and Whitworth on Sunday. Both of the matches will begin at noon.
