Pioneers Score Twice To Shutout Boxers

PORTLAND, Ore.-
Brittany Hartmann (Sr., Portland, Ore.) collected seven saves, but was not enough to help as the Pacific women's soccer team fell to Lewis & Clark 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Griswold Stadium.
The Pioneers opened the scoring early in the 3
rd minute off a corner kick by Emilia Emmeti. Emmeti found Traci Nakamura, who fired to the back of the net past Hartmann.
Lewis & Clark's second goal of the match that would cap off the scoring 2-0 came in the 89
th minute. Kylie Carera had an opportunity to score, but hit the crossbar. The ball rebounded off to Sarah Breninger, who fired and found the back of the net.
The Pioneers outshot the Boxers 18-7. The Boxers had their best scoring opportunity in the 83
rd minute when
Chantal Gustine (Fr., Kalispell, Mont.) fired, but was shut down by Lewis & Clark goalkeeper Geena Fong, her only save of the match.
Kaitlyn Harper (Sr., Oregon City, Ore.) led the Boxers with three shots. Hartmann (3-3-3) took the loss between the pipes. Fong collected her second win of the season in the net.
The Boxers (4-3-3, 2-3-1 NWC) return home to play host to Willamette on Saturday and Puget Sound on Sunday. Both of the matches will begin at noon.
