Box Score

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash.- The Pacific men's soccer team regained their strength after a tough start to the 2012 season, as five Boxers capitalized on offensive opportunities, with a 6-0 victory over Walla Walla on Friday afternoon at Walla Walla's soccer field.

The Boxers took advantage of their scoring opportunities early in the first half starting off with Grady Bryson (So., Montana City, Mont.), who scored his first goal of the season, his second career goal, in the 6th minute off a cross from Jorge Mandujano (So., Corneilus, Ore.).

Just seven seconds later, Alex Arrington (So., Portland, Ore.) found Kody Ganiko (Sr., Makawao, Hawaii), who would fire to the back of the net to make the score 2-0. Another goal was scored right after Ganiko by Nick Rudella (Jr., Sammamish, Wash.) as he took control to fire past Walla Walla goalkeeper Jonathan McClane.

Quintin Love (Fr., Kailua, Hawaii) scored his first goal as a Boxer in the first half off a cross from Rudella, increasing the score to 4-0. Love would connect for the second time in the 52nd minute, this time on a cross from Arrington.

The Boxers would cap off the scoring in the 56th minute, when Mark Watson (So., Clackmas, Ore.) scored off a cross from Mason Nakama (Jr., Honolulu Hawaii).

Many Boxers saw action in the match, including seven freshmen. Love led the young pack with two goals. Arrington tallied two assists on the day, while Michael Summers (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) collected the victory in between the posts. Zach Cohen (Jr., Grafton, Calif.) came into replace Summers to play the second half of the match.

The Boxers (1-3-0) return to Forest Grove for their home opener against Oregon Tech on Sunday. The match begins at 2:30 p.m.
