Freshman Nash Breaks Record, Boxers Win Dual

FOREST GROVE – Freshman
Gavin Nash (Fr., Cottage Grove, Ore.) broke a the 500-yard freestyle record as the Pacific swim team claimed a dual victory over Willamette on Friday evening at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
Nash picked up a first place victory in the 500-yard freestyle and also broke the Pacific record with a time of 4:58.01. The previous record holder Michael Simmonds, swam a time of 4:58.27 in 2011. Nash also picked up another victory in his first swim of the evening, the 400-yard individual medley. He swam the event in a time of 4:33.76.
Dylan Cramer (Sr. Caldwell, Idaho) made the most of his last meet in front of his home crowd, collecting two victories. Cramer started the evening off in 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:46.10. He also picked up a victory in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.80.
Jack Lloyd (Fr., Portland, Ore.) claimed a first place victory in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.77.
Brandon Hand picked up his first victory of the season in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.55.
Kramer Ichimura (So., Mililani, Hawaii) led the Boxers with a first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.95.
Spencer Chandler* (So., Weiser, Idaho) led the Boxers in the 100-yard freestyle with a second place finish, swimming a time of 52.28.
Michael Hargitt* (Jr., Oregon City, Ore.) picked up a first place finish in the 100-yard back stroke with a time of 1:02.58.
The Boxers started the night off with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing with a time of 1:40.62. The men claimed a 123-74 victory over the Willamette Bearcats.
On the women's side,
Amanda Clark (So., Olympia, Wash.) picked up two victories for the Boxers. She swam a 11:11.46 in the 1000-yard freestyle and also swam a 55.69 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Janae Sargent (Fr., Redding, Calif.) claimed a victory in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.84.
Amber Chase (So., Tigard, Ore.) led the Boxers in the women's 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.05.
Allison Clark (Keizer, Ore., McNary) picked up her final victory in front of her home crowd in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:48.79.
Katie Porter (So., McMinnville, Ore.) claimed a first place victory for the Boxers in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.17.
Kristine Valdez* (Sr., Poulsbo, Wash.) led the Boxers in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.90.
Alex Bing* (Jr., Roseburg, Ore.) led the Boxers with a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:51.20.
Allison Clark picked up a second place victory in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.26.
The women also started the evening off with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.33. The Boxers claimeda 125-76 victory over the Willamette Bearcats.
The swimming dual marked the final home dual of the season and the final home dual for four seniors. Cramer,

Gwen Rogers were honored before the dual started and are appreciated for their efforts as a Boxer.
The Boxers next competition is tomorrow, Saturday Jan. 19, as they travel down to McMinnville to take on the rival Linfield. The dual begins at 1 p.m.
