DES MOINES, Wash. – A 10-point lead faded quickly for Pacific Saturday as Highline CC won the final four matches and secured the win on Ben Tynan's major decision in the heavyweight bout in a 20-17 victory over the Boxers in men's wrestling action at the Student Recreation Center.

The Boxers won four of the first six matches of the night to build a 17-7 advantage through the 165-pound bout.  After Highline's Brandon Leach opened the night with a 6-3 decision victory at 125 pounds, Eric Harder (So., Bethesda, Md.) provided for the only pin of the night as he scored a third round fall over Rob McKeagrie at 133 pounds, improving to 14-6 on the season and a team-best 7-1 in dual meets.

Ryan Baxter (So., Craig, Alaska) followed suit with the Boxers' second win, also securing bonus points in an 11-2 major decision over Deandre Sparks at 141.

Max Welch took the four points back for Highline with a major decision at 149 pounds before the Boxers came back to win the next two bouts.  Dillon Ford (So., Montesano, Wash.) used a riding time advantage to break the tie at the end of three rounds for a 5-4 win over Lonnie Hurley at 157.  Bruce Balcita (Jr., Myrtle Creek, Ore.) followed with what proved to be the Boxers' final win of the night, using two takedowns and a nearfall in the first round to set the stage of a 16-2 major decision over Kario Wallin at 165 pounds.

Cole Schwartz started the Highline comeback in the 174-pound match, building a 3-0 lead in the first round and holding on for a 7-3 win over Chris Harlin. Jr., Issaquah, Wash.).  Lucas Huyber followed by handing Caleb Malychewski (Jr., Camas, Wash.) just his third loss of the season at 184 pounds, scoring a 6-3 victory.

Wayne Swartz brought Highline with one point with his 8-4 decision over Nik Streng (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii).  Tynan then secured the come-from-behind win with a 9-0 major decision blanking of Evan Schreurs (Jr., Duvall, Wash.).

With the victory, Highline improves to 1-5 of the season.  Pacific dropped to 5-3 in dual meet competitions.

Pacific returns home to the Stoller Center next weekend for three dual matches in three days.  The Boxers will take on NAIA foe Simon Fraser and Division II San Francisco State on Friday before hosting Southwestern Oregon CC on Sunday.
