McMINNVILLE, Ore. – With a significantly tightened up lineup, Pacific put together their best hitting night of the season as the Boxers cruised to a three-set victory over Linfield, 25-20, 25-21, 25-15, in Northwest Conference volleyball action at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.

The Boxers (4-9, 3-3 NWC) finished with a .310 hitting percentage, paced by 13 kills from Una Areta (Fr., Kent, Wash.) and 12 kills and a .500 hitting percentage by Hannah Herbert (So., Hillsboro, Ore.)  of the nine Pacific players to get into the match, five finished with hitting percentages of .333 or better.

Emily Farnham (So., University Place, Wash.) finished with 31 assists while Becky Sheller (So., Gresham, Ore.) paced Pacific defensively with 16 digs.

Kailana Ritte-Camara led a struggling Linfield offensive effort with nine kills.  Audrey Frazier added 17 assists and Courtney Wanamaker had 11 digs.

Pacific came out of the gate on fire, bolting to a 5-0 advantage thanks in part to three Linfield errors.  The Wildcats (4-9, 0-6 NWC) came to within 10-8 before the Boxers went on a five-point run, two on Linfield errors and two on kills by Areta and Farnham.  Pacific held strong the rest of the way, finishing with 12 kills and a .303 hitting percentage in the 25-20 win.

The second set proved much closer, with the Wildcats taking an 18-15 lead on Casie Gaza's service ace.  The Boxers, though, won the next five points, three of which were the results of Linfield attack errors, to take the 20-18 lead.  Jamie Steach (Fr., Pasco, Wash.) served Pacific to three more winners to help secure a 25-21 win.

Linfield held an early 1-0 lead in the third set, but a number of runs allowed Pacific to surge ahead for the win.  Sheller hit a service ace to build a 14-8 lead and a kill by Mariah McHolland (Sr., Renton, Wash.) made it a 20-10 lead en route to the 10-point win and the sweep.

Pacific will return to the Stoller Center on Friday to host Lewis & Clark.
