Clark Leads Boxers Again In Loss To Whitman

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Amanda Clark (Jr., Olympia, Wash.) led the Pacific swimming team again for the second day in a row, winning her three individual events as the Boxers suffered a dual meet loss to Whitman on Saturday afternoon at the Harvey Pool.
 
Clark started the afternoon off with a win in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:05.62. Just one race later, she won again in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.74. She swam a 5:18.94 in the 500-yard freestyle to pick up her final first place finish of the afternoon. Katie Porter (Jr., McMinnville, Ore.) was also a contributor to the Boxers' points. She finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.82. She also finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.8 seconds.
 
Alex Bing* (Sr., Roseburg, Ore.) picked up the Boxers' final first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.25. Amber Chase (Jr., Tigard, Ore.) also picked up a second place finish, swimming a time of 1:03.11 in the 100-yard butterfly. Kristine Valdez* (Sr., Poulsbo, Wash.) finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.61. The women's relay team picked up first place in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:52.46.
 
On the men's side, Charles Morse (Fr., Forest Grove, Ore.) was the main contributor. Morse finished first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:01.87. He also picked up a first place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 17:05.74. Carter Suzuki (Fr., Wailuku, Hawaii) finished second in the men's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.59. The men's relay teams picked up second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:34.42.
 
The women drop to a 1-3 record on the season and the men slip to 0-4. Next weekend, the Boxers will host the Northwest Conference Invite, where all teams from the NWC will compete at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center. The first event will begin at 8 a.m.
