Jensen Records Final Double-Double, Boxers Suffer Loss To End Season

Paige Jensen (Sr, Bemidji, Minn.) recorded her 11
th double-double of the season in her last game as a Boxer, but wasn't enough to outlast Puget Sound, suffering a 67-54 loss in the final game of the season on Friday evening at Memorial Fieldhouse.
Jensen scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. She went 4 of 13 from the field and 4 of 5 from the charity stripe. She also collected two assists.
Erica Colter (Sr., Kennewick, Wash.) scored a team-high 13 points in 26 minutes, making the most of her last game. She shot 5 of 9 from the field and 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. She collected one rebound and two assists.
Heather Hitch (Sr., Enumclaw, Wash.) tallied five rebounds.
The Boxers shot 32 percent from the field, 38 percent from beyond the arc and 77 percent from the free throw line. The Boxers forced 10 Logger turnovers to go along with four steals and nine assists.
The Loggers (14-10, 7-8 NWC) started the first half on a 10-0 run before the Boxers scored their first basket. Colter sunk a jumper to get the Boxers on the board with 15:51 to play in the first half. She would cut the Logger lead to seven after a three-pointer.
With 12:22 left to play in the first half, the Boxers cut the lead to just five, trailing 15-10.
Anuhea Wall (So., Kealakekua, Hawaii) came off the bench to sink one beyond the arc. The Boxers were trailing by 10 again with 6:27 left to play in the first half.
Olivia Cook (So., Beaverton, Ore.) cut the lead to eight before the Loggers went on 6-0 run with 3:31 left to go until halftime.
After a Logger foul, Cook cut the Logger lead to 13 with a made free throw. Two made free throws from
Alex Pfefferle (Jr., Twin Falls, Idaho) made two free throws and a trey to cut the lead to 10 with 1:36 left. Puget Sound's Kelsey McKinnis made a last second layup to put the Loggers ahead 38-24 at halftime.
Kaila Johnson (So., McKinleyville, Calif.) opened the second half with one beyond the arc. Colter made her second three pointer of the game with 16:29 to go in the game to cut the Logger lead to 10. The Loggers went up by 16 with 13:03 left after a made layup from Puget Sound's Amanda Forshay. The Boxers brought it within 12 after a three-pointer from Daily Koga (So., Caldwell, Idaho).
Colter made her third three-pointer of the evening with 10:01 left to play to cut the Logger lead to 11. A foul by the Boxers put the Loggers back up by 13, but Jensen cut the lead to 11 with 7:20 left to play. Johnson made her second free throw to bring the Boxers back, 56-46, but the Loggers seemed to control the rest of the game. The rest of the game, the Boxers made five shots, but wasn't enough to come back.
The Boxers final game marked three seniors final games in a Boxer uniform. Jensen, Colter and Hitch led the Boxers to a 14-10 record, 7-8 NWC. Jensen averaged 11.6 points per game. Hitch averaged nine points per game, while Colter tallied 6.4 points per game.
