Four First Place Finishes Pace Boxers At Wildcat Open

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – A quartet of first place finishes, paced by season best marks for Mackenzie Huddleston (Fr., Milwaukie, Ore.) in the women's high jump and the men's 400-meter relay team, led the Pacific track and field teams at the Wildcat Open, held Saturday at Maxwell Field.
 
Huddleston tied her season best in the high jump, winning the event with a clearance of 4 feet, 11.75 inches.  The men's 400-meter relay team of Matthew Dodier (So., Portland, Ore.), Craig Bailey (So., Fairfield, Calif.), Trey Oshiro-Atabay (So., Aiea, Hawaii) and Sean Valente (Jr., Ewa Beach, Hawaii) also placed first in a season best time of 43.61 seconds.
 
Pacific's other first place finishes were also on the men's side of the roster.  Michael Zane (So., Honolulu, Hawaii) won the 200 meters in 23.48 seconds while Kelson Kawai (Jr., North Kohala, Hawaii) won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 3.5 inches.  Teammate Jeremy Parkinson (Fr., Hubbard, Ore.) placed fourth with a clearance of 5 feet, 7.75 inches.
 
Parkinson added to another strong day for Pacific jumpers with a second place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 42 feet, 1.25 inches.  Oshirao-Atabay, meanwhile, set a season best in the long jump with his second place jump of 21 feet, 5.25 inches.  Chloe Hallyburton (Sr., Dayton, Ore.) tied for third in the women's long jump with her mark of 4 feet, 7.75 inches.
 
Kelli Aken-Pagdilao (Jr., Makakilo, Hawaii) placed second in both of her specialty sprint events.  She set a season best in the 100 meters with a time of 12.96 seconds and cruised to a time of 27.14 seconds in the 200 meters.  Her counterparts on the 400-meter relay team, Alexis Damo (Fr., Honolulu, Hawaii), Hayley Palmer (So., Sisters, Ore.), Mariah Ariola (So., Honolulu, Hawaii) and Emily Tuffey (So., Valencia, Calif.), placed second with a season best of 51.52 seconds.
 
Hallyburton also established a season best in the 400-meter hurdles, placing second in a time of 1:13.19.  Cyan Agena (So., Kapolei, Hawaii) ran a season best of 18.02 seconds to place third in the women's 100-meter hurdles.  Nathan Farrell (Fr., Warrenton, Ore.) placed fourth in the men's 400-meter hurdles in a time of 59.57 seconds.
 
The Boxers will return to action as a full squad next weekend, taking part in the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open in Portland.
