Solid Play Helps Boxers Take Match From Eagles

LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Pacific women's tennis team used solid play in both singles and doubles to come out on top in a 6-3 victory over Biola in non-conference spring break action on Wednesday at Biola's Tennis Center.
“Great win for the Boxers today,” said assistant coach Justin Carrier. “I continue to be impressed by our doubles teams here in California. One and three looked tough out there today.”
Amber Craviotto (So., Eugene, Ore.) and
Kelsey Lack (Jr., Grants Pass, Ore.) led off the day with a 8-2 victory as the No. 3 doubles.
Synclaire Waldron (So., Modesto, Calif.) and
Lillian Do (So., Beaverton, Ore.) picked up the next victory, claiming a 8-3 victory as the No. 1 doubles flight.
The Boxers headed into singles leading 2-1. Craviotto claimed the first singles win for the Boxers at the No. 5 spot. She took the first set 6-4 and then the second set 6-1. Do claimed a 6-0 and 6-3 victory in the No. 3 spot.
Francesca Battaglia (So., Sherman Oaks, Calif.) picked up a win in the No. 2 singles flight, taking a 6-3 first set and coming back to win the second set 6-2.
Carlee Rhodaback (Fr., Albany, Ore.) claimed the final win for the Boxers. She won the first set 6-3 and loss the second set 6-0. She came back in the final set to win 6-2.
The Boxers (4-11, 0-10 NWC) will play their final spring break match tomorrow. They will travel to Vanguard for a match starting at noon.
