Boxers Suffer Loss to Missionaries

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Pacific women's tennis team suffered a tough 9-0 loss to Whitman, who currently leads the Northwest Conference, at Whitman's tennis courts on Saturday.
 
Lillian Do (So., Beaverton, Ore.) was the only player for the Boxers to go into a tiebreaker. She won the first set 6-4, but suffered a 6-2 score in the second set. She played a tough tiebreaker, losing 10-5 in the No. 3 singles position to Whitman's Jenna Dobrin. Synclaire Waldon (So., Modesto, Calif.) claimed a 6-0 and 7-5 loss as the No. 1 singles. Francesca Battaglia (So., Sherman Oaks, Calif.) lost 6-0 and 6-1 in the No. 2 spot.
 
Rachel Mizuno (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii) teamed up with Waldron and suffered an 8-2 loss to Whitman's Alyssa Roberg and Courtney Lawless in the No. 1 doubles flight. Becky Sheller (Fr., Gresham, Ore.) and Do took a 8-4 loss as the No. 2 flight and Kelsey Lack (Jr., Grants Pass, Ore.) and Amber Craviotto (So., Eugene, Ore.) suffered an 8-1 loss as the No. 3 flight.
 
The Boxers (0-11, 3-13) will play their final match next weekend on Apr. 12. The match will begin at 4 p.m.
