FOREST GROVE – Lucas Sconyers (Sr., Seattle, Wash.) scored the game-winning goal for the Pacific men's soccer team to beat Warner Pacific 3-2 in non-conference action on Friday night at Lincoln Park Stadium.

With five minutes left to play in the first overtime period, Sconyers received the ball from the corner kick inside a crowded box to win the game on a golden goal. The goal marked Sconyers first goal of the season and just his second career goal as a Boxer.

Warner Pacific opened the scoring at the 58-minute mark. Almir Celebic crossed to the middle to Jameson Jones. Jones dribbled and scored from five yards out.

The Boxers tied the game at the 75-minute mark when Nick Pinto (Fr., Wilsonville, Ore.) crossed to Ian Farley (Spokane, Wash.), who shot uncontested from 10-yards out past the Knights goalkeeper, Dorian Lair. Less than four minutes later, Farley again received the ball in the box from Nick Calkins (So., Hillsboro, Ore.) to score the go-ahead-goal.

The Knights brought themselves back into the game with less than 10 minutes to go. Daniel Ervin worked his way inside the box and headed the ball past Boxer goalkeeper Michael Summers (Sr., Beaverton, Ore.).

Summers (1-0) collected the win between the pipes. He tallied five saves in 95 minutes. Dorian Lair (0-1) took the loss for the Knights, collecting two saves. Farley recorded five shots, the most on the squad with two shots on goal.

The Boxers will take on the Howard Payne Yellow Jackets on Monday, Sept. 2 for more non-conference action. The match will start at 7 p.m. Live stats and a live webcast will be available at goboxers.com.
