Kaminsky, Boxers Continue Hot Streak With Win Over Wolves

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Nick Kaminsky (Fr., Breves, Brasil) scored his third and fourth goal on the season to help the Boxers continue their hot start to the season and claim a 3-0 victory over Walla Walla (Wash.) on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Walla Walla's soccer field.
 
"We're happy with the boys performance today," said assistant coach Mike Iacolucci. "Even with the lightening delay, the boys did well to get the job done on the road."
 
In the very first minute of the match, Kaminsky received a cross from Garrick Knowles (Jr., Roseburg, Ore.) to take an early 1-0 lead on the Wolves. Kaminsky would score his second goal at the end of the first half, but this time on a cross from Jorge Mandujano (Sr., Forest Grove, Ore.).
 
Ian Farley (Jr., Spokane, Wash.) scored the Boxers' second goal of the game, his fifth goal on the season. Farley received a cross from Knowles, his second assist on the evening, and scored to the back of the net, past Walla Walla goalkeeper Craig Nash.
 
The Boxers outshot the Wolves 16-8, with 11 shots coming in the first half. Farley led the Boxers with four shots.
 
Michael Summers (Sr., Beaverton, Ore.) (5-0-0) claimed the victory in the net, collecting two saves. Zach Cohen (Sr., Grafton, Calif.) came in the second half of the match to combine for the team shutout. Craig Nash took the loss for the Wolves, tallying five saves.
 
The Boxers (5-0-0) will play their final non-conference match on Tuesday at Lincoln Park Stadium against UC Santa Cruz. The match will begin at 2 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at goboxers.com. Walla Walla's next match up is on Wednesday against University of Great Falls.
