FOREST GROVE – After many opportunities to score in the first half, the Pacific women's soccer team picked up their game in the second half to claim a 1-0 win over George Fox in Northwest Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Park Stadium.

"It was a very good win for us today as we executed the game plan well indeed," said head coach Morgan Joseph. "It's always a good sign when you get 19 shots and 17 corners. There was desire today, especially in the second half. It showed. As their leader, I am proud."

In the first half, the Boxers shot eight times, 19 shots overall, and tallied up 10 corner kicks while only allowing one shot from the Bruins (2-3-0, 0-1-0 NWC). In the 23rd minute, Holly Chang-Northway took one of the Boxers 10 corner kicks to the goal, but was headed high by Kamryn Plachot (Jr., La Palma Calif.). Three minutes later, Kara Lankey (Fr., La Canada, Calif.) took the corner kick  and found McKenna Davidson (So., Kailua-Kona, Hawaii) but was wide.

The Boxers scored their lone goal of the game four minutes into the second half. Lankey crossed to McKenna Davidson in the middle of the box and headed the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal. The goal marks McKenna Davidson's third goal of the season.

Kayla Davidson (Sr., Kailua-Kona, Hawaii) started the game, but Kristina Morris (Fr., Molalla, Ore.) started the second half and picked up the victory between the pipes, marking her first career win as a Boxer. Davidson and Morris tallied one save a piece. Bruin keeper, Alyssa Montero (2-3-0) took the loss, collecting eight saves. McKenna Davidson led the Boxers with five shots, while Emily Tuffey (Jr., Valencia, Calif.) tallied three.

"I think the think that I enjoyed most about today was the way in which every individual paid attention to their individual roles," said associate head coach Dane Joseph. "These are the little steps that we are taking that will make us a more successful team and program."

The Boxers (4-1-1, 1-1-0 NWC) will play host to Pacific Lutheran tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 22. The match starts a noon at Lincoln Park Stadium. Live stats and live video will be available at www.goboxers.com.
