Boxers Give Up Too Many In Loss To Missionaries

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Pacific men's soccer team struggled to get things going over the course of the match and gave up too much, suffering a 5-1 loss to Whitman on Saturday afternoon in Northwest Conference action at Whitman's soccer field.

Garrick Knowles (Jr., Roseburg, Ore.), who put the ball to the back of the net, past Missionaries' goalkeeper Stuart Ellsworth.

With only eight shots the entire game, the Boxers' offense slowed down and shifted to defense for most of the match. The Missionaries went on to score two goals in the first period to take a 2-1 lead heading into the second period. Three goals in the second period helped the Missionaries claim the victory.

Micheal Summers (Sr., Beaverton, Ore.) took the loss for the Boxers between the pipes, tallying two saves.
Zach Cohen (Sr., Grafton, Calif.) came in with 20 minutes left to go in the second period and collected on save. Stuart Ellsworth claimed the victory, picking up two saves.
