WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Kara Lankey (Fr., La Canada, Calif.) led the Pacific women's soccer team with two first half goals to lead the Boxers to a 4-1 victory over Whitman in Northwest Conference action at Whitman's soccer field on Saturday afternoon.

"It was not our best start at all, but good teams find ways to dig deep and pull out results," said associate head coach Dane Joseph. "And these women did just that."

Lankey's first goal came in the sixth minute of the game, her fourth goal on the season. McKenna Davidson (So., Kailua-Kona, Hawaii) handled the ball anf then crossed to Lankey. Lankey dribbled the ball to the left side of the box and past Missionaries' goalkeeper Emily Davis on the right side. Lankey's fifth goal of the season came in the 40th minute when she dribbled past Davis to score. Davis tried to slide to get the ball, but missed.

The Missionaries (6-3-0, 2-3-0 NWC) scored less than two minutes later to cut the Boxer lead to one. Mackenzie Hughes scored the goal past Boxer keeper Kayla Davidson (Sr., Kailu-Kona, Hawaii).

The Boxers would add insurance goals in the second period. McKenna Davidson scored her fifth goal of the season in the 68th minute. Ashley Park-Hunt (Fr., Mililani, Hawaii) scored her second goal of the season in the 83rd minute when Chandler Bowen (Jr., Silverdale, Wash.) crossed to Park-Hunt up in the corner and kicked it to the left corner of the net.

"We feel very fortunate to have really top quality forwards," said Dane Joseph. "It was another brilliant outing for Kara and McKenna. Kara absolutely worked her socks off, and Chantal is right there with more consistent and solid performances."
