SPOKANE, Wash. – Brennan Faith (Fr., Redondo Beach, Calif.) was Pacific's lone winner in their second match against a Division I school is three days as the Boxers fell to Gonzaga, 6-1, in men's tennis action at the Stevens Center.

Faith was a winner in No. 3 singles, defeating Joey Brandt 6-3, 6-4.  It proved the only time Pacific came out on top in a well-played afternoon of tennis between the Division III Boxers and the Division I Bulldogs.

"We played hard today, but we were not as confident as we should have been going into the match," said Pacific Head Coach Brian Jackson.  "Gonzaga, was a tough team, but we felt like we left quite a few points out there.  It was a real cool experience for the guys to play in that environment."

Gonzaga set the pace by sweeping all three doubles matches.  Nick Kamisar and Pablo Mosquera opened with a 6-2 victory over Josh Bernstein (Fr., Novato, Calif.) and Rueben Mulhern (Fr., Boise, Idaho) in the No. 3 flight while Vladmir Milatovic and Brandt secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Faith and Grayson Frazier (Jr., La Canada, Calif.) at No. 2.

Troy Zuroske (Sr., Richland, Wash.) and Giancarlo Battaglia (Jr., Sherman Oaks, Calif.) played a tough match at No. 1 against Jack Schoebel and Muzzen Ismath, but fell by a 6-4 score.

In singles, the Bulldogs secured the match victory with wins in the lower three flights.  Ismath opened with a 6-0, 6-3 decision over Bernstein at No. 5 while Mosquera added a 6-2, 6-1 win over Alen Suklje (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) at No. 6.  Schoebel secured the win with his 6-3, 6-4 decision over Frazier at No. 4.  Mijatovic knocked off Battaglia at No. 1, 6-2, 6-3.  Kamisar beat Zuroske, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 before Faith closed the match with Pacific's lone win.

Pacific will open Northwest Conference play on Friday with their first home match of the season, hosting Puget Sound at 4 p.m.
