FOREST GROVE – It came down to the final match and it took two locations to decide it.

George Fox's Ali Diehl proved the match-winner for the Bruins, claiming the No 6 singles match to take a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Pacific in their Northwest Conference women's tennis match on Sunday.

The majority of the match was played at George Fox's courts, but the final two matches were contested at Pacific's Holce Tennis Courts due to rain.

Pacific opened the match with the lead, taking two of the three doubles matches.  Kaitlyn Lomartire (Fr., Portland, Ore.) and Francesca Battaglia (Jr., Sherman Oaks, Calif.) started it off with an 8-3 win at No. 1 over Alyssa Emoto and Chantelle Hadeed.

Megan Dahlberg and Diehl evened the match for the Bruins with an 8-4 win over Kelly Flores (Fr. Ewa Beach, Hawaii) and Danielle Hunter (Jr., La Quinta, Calif.) at No. 3 before Carlee Rhodaback (So., Albany, Ore.) and Kelsey Lack (Sr., Grants Pass, Ore.) made it a 2-1 Pacific lead with an 8-6 win over Taylor Barnes and Krista Rey at No. 3.

Dahlberg tied it for the Bruins once again as she began the singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Lack at No. 5.  Lomartire improved to 3-0 on the season with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Emoto at No. 1.

The Bruins charged ahead by taking the next two matches as Rey scored a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Danielle Wicks (So., Phoenix, Ariz.) at No. 4 and Hadeed took a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Rhodaback at No. 3.

Battaglia kept Pacific alive with her 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) victory over Barnes at No. 2, but Diehl came through for the Bruins with her 6-1, 6-1 win over Flores at No. 6.

With the win, the Bruins improved to 3-0 overall, 2-0 NWC.  Pacific dropped to 1-2, 0-2 NWC.  Pacific will return to action at home on Friday against Pacific Lutheran.
