FOREST GROVE – A day after their match at Lewis & Clark went down to the wire, Pacific piled up wins early to score an 8-1 Northwest Conference men's tennis victory over Willamette Saturday at the Holce Tennis Courts.

The Boxers (6-2, 5-1 NWC) swept their way easily through the doubles bracket before seeing much of their singles lineup cruise on their way to their third straight victory.

"We were proud of all of our guys today on an efficient and confident win," said Pacific Assistant Coach Pete Yellico.  "We really showed our depth and consistency and battled through a hungry team."

Despite resting their No. 1 doubles tandem of Troy Zuroske (Sr., Richland, Wash.) and Giancarlo Battaglia (Jr., Sherman Oaks, Calif.), the Boxers seemingly cruised through the doubles matches.  Brennan Faith (Fr., Redondo Beach, Calif.) and Grayson Frazier (Jr., La Canada, Calif.) played up to No. 1 and scored an 8-1 win over Devin Abney and Will Cooper.

Lorne Bulling (So., Corvallis, Ore.) and Clark Wininger (Fr., San Francisco, Calif.) scored an 8-4 victory over Sam Wexman and Gunnar Lee in the No. 2 match while Alen Suklje (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) and Reuben Mulhern (Fr., Boise, Idaho) were 8-6 winners over Shrujan Kalidindi and Blake Brash at No. 3.

In the singles, Josh Bernstein (Fr., Novato, Calif.) opened things with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Abney at No. 3.  Battaglia prevailed in a second set tiebreaker to collect a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) victory over Cooper and Zuroske sealed the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Wexman in the No. 1 flight.

Bulling added a three-set victory over Jack Schreiber at No. 4, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8, while Mulhern scored a 6-2, 6-0 win over Lee at No. 6.  Brash earned Willamette's (1-6, 1-5 NWC) only win of the match, taking the No. 5 flight from Suklje 6-4, 6-1.

Pacific will return to action on Friday, hosting Treasure Valley CC for an exhibition match at 4 p.m. at the Holce Courts.
