SALEM, Ore. – Nathan Suyematsu (So., Tualatin, Ore.) belted out three hits to go along with two RBIs as Pacific put together a pair of four-run innings to knock off Corban Tuesday, 9-1, in baseball action at Warrior Field.

The sophomore's two-out, two-run single capped a four-run eighth inning as the Boxers (6-9) finished with 12 hits against six different Corban hitters.  Walker Olis (So., Burlington, Wash.) had two hits and scored three runs.

Suyematsu led off the game with a single down the right field line, advanced to third on a double by Donnie Bradley (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) and both runners scored when Olis reached on an error.  Olis later scored on Jimmy Brakebush's (So., Portland, Ore.) and Nick Garrett (So., San Diego, Calif.) plated on a squeeze play that ended the inning.

Corban (13-11) scored their lone run in the second.  Jon Mercer was hit by a pitch with two outs and scored on Gregg Romero's single through the right side.

Pacific would not strike again until the eighth inning.  Olis led off with a single to left field and scored on Brakebush's single to right center.  With the bases loaded and two out, Fernando Careaga (So., Tucson, Ariz.) used an infield single to score Brakebush before Suyematsu's single to left center scored on Danny Yazzolino (So., Portland, Ore.) and Grant Gabriel (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii).

Olis accounted for one more run in the ninth when he singled with one out and scored on Ryan Sohn's (So., Ventura, Calif.) ground out.

Levi Peterson (Jr., Denver, Colo.) earned his first win of the season for the Boxers in relief, allowing two hits and two walks in 4.1 innings of work.  Starter Nate Montgomery (So., Sherwood, Ore.) allowed the one run on five hits with two walks in 3.2 innings of work.

Tony Davidson dropped to 1-1 with the loss for Corban, allowing four runs, two earned, on three hits with two walks in two innings of work.

Pacific will now travel south to the Los Angeles area where they will play a three-game series at La Verne on Saturday and Sunday.
