Bradley Blast Bombs Against Bucs In Twinbill Split

Donnie Bradley (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) belted two home runs in the second game Saturday, leading Pacific as they gained a doubleheader split with Whitworth in Northwest Conference baseball action at Merkel Field.
Bradley had solo home runs in the first and seventh innings of the nightcap while
Walker Olis (So., Burlington, Wash.) had a two-run shot in the first to lead the Boxers to a 6-2 victory.
In the opener, Whitworth starter Cory Mack held the Boxers to four hits in 7.1 innings while the Bucs' offense came up with five runs in fourth inning for the 6-1 victory.
Nathan Suyematsu (So., Tualatin, Ore.) led Pacific with four hits, two in each game, while Bradley had four hits in the second game.
With the split, Pacific improved to 11-17, 4-13 NWC. Whitworth improved to 9-19, 6-12 NWC.
GAME 1: WHITWORTH 6, PACIFIC 1The opener shaped up as a pitcher's duel early with Whitworth's Cory Mack and Pacific's
Kyle Treadway (Jr., Phoenix, Ore.) allowing one hit combined through the first three-and-a-half innings.
The Pirates, however, blew things open with a five-run fourth that proved to be the difference in the game. The first three batters of the inning reached base before Tyler Pheffer opened scoring with a single to right field that scored Nick Motsinger and Gerhard Muelheims. Josh Davis scored when Jeremy Druffel reached on an error. Mett Nelson drove Pfeffer home with a single to right and Justin Liu's sacrifice fly scored Druffel.
Mack kept Pacific off the board until the seventh when
Jimmy Brakebush (So., Portland, Ore.) singled with one out and eventually scored on an error. Davis added one more run for the Pirates in the bottom of the seventh with his home run.
Treadway took his sixth loss of the season for the Boxers, allowing five runs, four earned, on five hits in 3.2 innings of work. Mack earned his fourth win of the season by allowing one unearned run on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts in 7.1 innings.
Suyematsu led Pacific by going 2 for 4 while Motsinger had the same offensive line for the Pirates.
GAME 2: PACIFIC 6, WHITWORTH 2Pacific relied on the long ball to take the 3-0 lead in the first inning. Bradley opened with his solo homer. Suyematsu followed with a single through the right side before Olis smashed a two-run homer.
The Pirates replied in kind in the bottom of the first as Muelheims hit a bunt single with one out before Davis hit a two-run homer to bring the Pirates within one.
Pacific added on in the second inning.

Justin Strayer (So., Ventura, Calif.) reached on a two-out error and them scored on a double steal.
Colin McCusker (Jr., Olympia, Wash.) earned his second win of the season for the Boxers, allowing two runs on eight hits with three walks and a strikeout in 7.1 innings of work. Carson Blumental took the loss for Whitworth, allowing four runs on nine hits with five strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
Bradley went an impressive 4 for 5 with two runs and two RBIs to lead Pacific. Muelheims went 3 for 4 to lead Whitworth.
Pacific and Whitworth will conclude their three-game series on Sunday in Spokane. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
