Â
The homestanding Bruins did their part to set the tone early, bolting out to a 9-6 lead on Stanfield's dunk just two minutes into the contest. Pacific closed to within one on
Mitch Wettig's (Sr., Bend Ore.) three-point play at the 14:33 mark, but the Bruins surged back to an eight-point advantage when Lacey's lay-in with 9:44 to go made it a 23-15 game.
Â
The score was 25-17 a minute later when three-pointers by Proctor and
Daniel Gunther (Jr., San Jose, Calif.) sparked an 8-0 run that tied the contest at 25-25 with 7:14 left in the half. The Boxers were within one point, 33-32, with 2:56 to go before the Bruins closed the half on a 10-3 run, with Howard's lay-in providing George Fox a 43-35 halftime lead.

George Fox extended their lead to 13 points three minutes into the period, with Howard's three-pointer allowing the Bruins a 53-40 lead. The Bruins held the 12-point lead, 58-46, with 14:56 left when Gunther's second three-pointer of the game started the 25-7 run over the next nine minutes that won the game for the Boxers. Grandinetti's third three-pointer of the half tied the contest at 61-61 with 10:25 to go. Wettig's lay-in with 6:43 left made it a 77-67 Pacific lead and Grandinetti's record-tying trey with 2:26 provided the Boxers their largest lead of the game, 87-72, with 2:26 to go.
