ASHLAND, Ore. – Pacific's end to the dual meet season did not end they wanted Friday night as the Boxers took a 60-0 loss to No. 2 (NAIA) Southern Oregon in men's wrestling action at Riehm Arena.
The Boxers opened the meet by giving up three forfeits, but dropped the rest of their matches by pin.
Eric Harder (Sr., Bethesda, Md.) gave Devin Poppen a solid match at 133 pounds, but Poppen managed to pin Harder with 11 seconds left in the first round. Harder will enter the NCAA Division III West Regional with a team best 23-11 record.
Joey Norcia (Jr., Santa Ynez, Calif.) took No. 1 (NAIA) seeded Brock Gutches into the second round, but succumbed to a fall 17 seconds into the second round.
Pacific next competes at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championships, which will be held on Sat., Feb. 28, at Augsburg's Si Melby Hall.
