Box ScoreTACOMA, Wash. – Pacific returned home to Forest Grove Sunday without a loss over the weekend as the Boxers completed their sweep of the Tacoma schools with a 9-0 shutout of Pacific Lutheran in Northwest Conference men's tennis action at the Sprinker Recreation Center.

"The team played great overall and hit our stride early in doubles," said Pacific Assistant Coach
Pete Yellico. "We came out firing on all cylinders and all of our men played really confident up and down the lineup."

The Boxers' No. 1 tandem of
Brennan Faith (So., Redondo Beach, Calif.) and
Grayson Frazier (Sr., La Canada, Calif.) faced the only true test of the match, but came together for the 8-4 win over Sam Stadter and James Okubo to improve to 4-1 on the season.Â
Clark Wininger (So., San Francisco, Calif.) and
Oscar Wight (Fr., Adelaide, Australia) also improved to 4-1 with an 8-0 shutout of Jeremy Marsh and Noel Oteng-Mensah in the No. 2 flight.Â

Josh Bernstein (So., Novato, Calif.) and
Reuben Mulhern (So., Boise, Idaho) complete the doubles sweep with an 8-1 victory over Chris Erkkila and Alberto Leal at No. 3.Â

In singles,
Giancarlo Battaglia (Sr., Thousand Oaks, Calif.) improved to 5-0 on the year with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Stadter in the No. 1 flight. Faith improved to 4-0 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Okubo at No. 2 and Wininger improved to 3-1 with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Oteng-Mensah at No. 3.

Wight even his record at 2-2 on the year with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Leal at No. 4.Â
Sage Katayama (Fr., Mililani, Hawaii) picked up his first collegiate victory with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Marsh at No. 5 while
Ben Ryweck (Jr., Port Townsend, Wash.) won his first match of the season in a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Erkkila at No. 6.

With the victory, Pacific improved to 4-1, 3-1 NWC, while Pacific Lutheran fell to 1-4, 1-3 NWC. The Boxers will begin a string of four straight home matches on Saturday, hosting Lewis & Clark at 11 a.m.
