Team Scores (PDF)PORTLAND, Ore. – Six event winners, nine more Northwest Conference championships qualifying marks and 11 new marks or improvements on all-time top-10 lists highlighted a banner day for the Pacific track and field teams at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open, held at the Eldon Fix Track.

The Boxers had five individual event winners and one relay winner, led by a two-win performance by
Budweiser Hawkins (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) in the jumps. Hawkins hit a season best of 1.98m in the men's high jump and cleared 6.93m to win the men's long jump.Â
Jesse Bethke (Sr., Cave Junction, Ore.) added a victory in the men's discus with a season best mark of 45.32m while the men's 400-meter relay team won in a time of 42.94 seconds.

Kelsey Lee (Jr., Monroe, Wash.) and Katherine Popchock were Pacific's women's event winners. Lee improved her No. 3 all-time best time in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.03, while Popchock qualified for the NWC Championships with her mark of 2.89m in the pole vault. Her first official mark in the outdoor season, Popchock emerged at No. 5 on the Pacific all-time list.

The performances led a day that saw Pacific win the men's team competition with a score of 170 points while the women placed fourth with a score of 87 points.

Kris Sapp (So., Sacramento, Calif.) placed second in both the men's 100 and 200 meters. His time of 11.06 seconds in the 100 meters ties him for No. 10 on Pacific's all-time list and makes him only the third Pacific athlete since 1983 to crack the list.Â
Trey Oshiro-Atabay (Sr., Aiea, Hawaii) placed second in the 400 meters in a season best 51.10 seconds. Hurdler
Daniel Wagner (Sr., Kailua, Hawaii) placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a season best time of 15.57 seconds and third in the 400-meter hurdles in 58.47 seconds.

In the women's sprints, Marlee Chovich (Jr., Oregon City, Ore.) qualified for the NWC Championships, placing fourth in the 100 meters in 13.27 seconds. She emerges at No. 10 on the Pacific all-time list. Mikaela Bernards (Fr., Hillsboro, Ore.) qualified for the NWC Championships in the 100 meters with a time of 13.38 seconds and the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.76 seconds.

Nate Olowo (Fr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) qualified for the NWC Championships in both the high jump and triple jump. Olowo was third in the triple jump and his mark of 13.44m ranks him No. 10 on the Pacific all-time list. He went on to place fourth in the high jump at 1.83m.

In the throws, Bethke had season bests in all three of his events. In addition to his discus win, Bethke finished fourth in the shot put at 12.83m and placed fifth in the hammer, qualifying for the NWC Championships and moving to No. 5 on the Pacific all-time list at 48.39m.Â

For the women,
Mackenzie Huddleston (Jr., Milwaukie, Ore.) improved her No. 3 mark in the javelin with a season best of 41.39m, which placed second.Â
Katie Rock (Jr., Seattle, Wash.) qualified for the NWC Championships and moved into No. 7 all-time in the discus with a fifth place mark of 35.51m. Dianna Church (Fr., Bothell, Wash.) placed fourth in the shot put and moved to No. 8 on the all-time list at 10.83m.

Pacific is scheduled to take part in two meets over spring break. The Linfield Multi-Events meet will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday in McMinnville, while the George Fox Invitational will take place on Saturday in Newberg.
