Pacific/RPI Box ScoreLA MIRADA, Calif. – One day after losing to the No. 3 ranked team in Division III, Pacific rebounded to take a pair of men's tennis matches from Caltech and RPI as the Boxers continued their southern California road trip on Monday.

Pacific began the day with a dominant victory over regional rival Caltech, winning 6-1 at Caltech's Richard Ettinger Tennis Center. In their evening match, Pacific took easy control over RPI, 8-1, in a neutral site match played at the Biola University Tennis Center.

With the victories, Pacific improved to 10-2 overall. The Boxers continue their road trip on Tuesday, facing Redlands at 3 p.m.

PACIFIC 8, CALTECH 1The Boxers opened competition with the Beavers by taking two of the three doubles matches. The No. 1 tandem of
Brennan Faith (So., Redondo Beach, Calif.) and
Grayson Frazier (Sr., La Canada, Calif.) opened with an easy 8-2 win over Rutchwick Pathireddy and Sathwick Pathireddy.Â
Clark Wininger (So., San Francisco, Calif.) and
Oscar Wight (Fr., Adelaide, Australia) followed with an 8-1 victory in the No. 3 match over Alexander Henny and Fabio Arai.Â
Reuben Mulhern (So., Boise, Idaho) and
Josh Bernstein (So., Novato, Calif.) took the one loss, an 8-4 decision at No. 2 over Morgan Lebby and Rushikesh Joshi.

Giancarlo Battaglia (Sr., Thousand Oaks, Calif.) opened singles by surviving a first set tiebreaker for a 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 win over Ruthwick Pathireddy at No. 1. Faith made it a 4-1 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Joshi at No. 2 and Wininger secured the team victory with a three-set victory over Lebby at No. 4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1. Frazier also survived a three-set affair with Sathwick Pathireddy at No. 3, winning 6-3, 1-6, 6-3. Wight took a 6-2, 7-5 win over Alexander Henny at No. 5 and
Jason Voss (Sr., Jamul, Calif.) closed the match with 6-0, 6-0 win over Zachary Lipel at No. 6.

PACIFIC 8, RPI 1The Boxers opened their evening match with the Engineers by sweeping through the doubles. Faith and Frazier improved to 9-2 on the season with a hard-fought 9-7 win over McKinley Grimes and Brandon Mazzara at No. 1. Battaglia paired with
Jason Voss (Sr., Jamul, Calif.) for the second time this season and won for the second time, taking an 8-6 win from Tristan Wise and Alan Grullon Gonzalez at No. 2. Wininger and Wight completed their Monday sweep with an 8-4 win over Sherman Uyeno and Graham Harris at No. 3, improving to 9-3 on the year.

Battaglia went to 9-2 on the season in singles with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Grimes at No. 1. Faith followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Mazzara at No. 2 while Frazier won just his third two-set match of the season, knocking off Wise 6-3, 6-2 to improve to 8-3 on the year. Wininger survived his second three-set affair of the day at No. 4, coming back from a set down to beat Grullon Gonzalez 3-6, 6-2, 10-5. Mulhern was also a winner at No. 6, beating Stephen Baxter 6-3, 7-5. Uyeno scored RPI's lone win of the evening, going three sets to beat Bernstein 3-6, 6-2, 10-5.
