NEWBERG, Ore. – A long-awaited school record for Britta LaVoie (Jr., Spokane, Wash.) headlined another strong weekend of performances for the Pacific track and field teams at George Fox's Rich Allen, held Saturday at Stoffer Family Stadium.

LaVoie won the women's pole vault with a league-leading mark of 3.51m (11 feet, 6.25 inches).  The six-inch collegiate best was enough to break the Pacific record in the event of 11 feet, 1.75 inches, which was set by Kasey Fisher in 2010.

The performance highlighted a day where Pacific saw five athletes improve or debut of the school's all-time top-10 lists, saw four athletes set Northwest Conference Championships qualifying marks in five different events and saw six in Pacific uniforms win their respective events.

In the women's sprints, Mikaela Bernards (Fr., Hillsboro, Ore.) put together a trio of personal best for a trio of second place finishes.  Bernards placed second in the 100 meters in 13.28 seconds and the 200 meters in 27.25 seconds, both qualifying her for the NWC Championships.  She went on to hit a season-best time of 16.43 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, improve her No. 5 mark on the Pacific all-time list.

The women's 400-meter relay team, comprised by Dawne Yamamoto (Jr., Mililani, Hawaii), Bernards, Hayley Palmer (Sr., Sisters, Ore.) and Marlee Chovich (Jr., Oregon City, Ore.) placed second with a season best time of 50.72 seconds.

Mackenzie Huddleston (Jr., Milwaukie, Ore.) led Pacific in the women's field events, tying for first in the high jump with a clearance of 1.38m and winning the javelin with a throw of 38.67m.  Shannon Hammond (Fr., Forest Grove, Ore.) improved her No. 4 spot on Pacific's all-time list in the triple jump, placing third with a season best of 10.41m.

For the men, Kaleb Bass (So., Slate Creek, Idaho) posted an impressive improvement in the steeplechase, winning the steeplechase in a lifetime best time of 9:59.15.  In the process, Bass emerged No. 5 on Pacific's all-time list in the event and is the first Pacific steeplechaser to break 10 minutes since 1982.

Marshall Taunton (Fr., Hillsboro, Ore.) was equally as impressive in the pole vault, emerging at No. 5 on the Pacific all-time list with his second place clearance of 4.25m, qualifying him for the NWC Championships with the conference's fifth best mark.

In the men's sprints, Kris Sapp (So., Sacramento, Calif.) won the 100 meters in 11.44 seconds and placed second in the 200 meters in 22.72 seconds.  Sean Higinbotham (So., Phoenix, Ariz.) placed second in the 400 meters, qualifying for the NWC Championships in a time of 51.61 seconds.  Connor Pappas (Jr., Heppner, Ore.) also qualified in the 400 meters with his third place time of 51.69 seconds.  Daniel Wagner (Sr., Kailua, Hawaii) added a second place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.96 seconds.

The men's 400-meter relay team of Pappas, Sapp, Higinbotham and Budweiser Hawkins (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) placed second with a time of 43.06 seconds.
