NEWBERG, Ore. – Britta LaVoie (Jr., Spokane, Wash.) broke her own school record in the women's pole vault for the second time this season Thursday, leading the performances by a handful of Pacific track and field competitors at the George Fox NCAA Last Qualifier at Stoffer Family Stadium.

LaVoie placed second in the pole vault, clearing her first three heights on her first attempt to finish with a school record mark of 11 feet, 8.5 inches.  She missed on all three attempts at 12 feet, 2.5 inches, which would have placed her among the top-20 marks in NCAA Division III.

Women's javelin throwers Mackenzie Huddleston (Jr., Milwaukie, Ore.) and Emily Sproul (Fr., Salem, Ore.) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, as they tried to notch nationals qualifying marks.  Huddleston's top throw of 123 feet, 10 inches, came on her first attempt while Sproul's best of 115 feet, 3 inches, came in her final throw.

Jesse Bethke (Sr., Cave Junction, Ore.) had another solid performance in the men's discus, winning with a throw of 153 feet, 9 inches.  Conner Pappas (Jr., Heppner, Ore.) notched a season best in the men's 100 meters in his final meet of the season, placing second in 11.25 inches.  He went on to finish third in the 200 meters in 22.92 seconds.

Pacific athletes will now wait to see if they have marks that will qualify them for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.  The field for the meet will be announced on Sunday online at ncaa.com.
