PARKLAND, Wash. - Pacific's Matt Kimball scored first but it was host Pacific Lutheran that scored last a few times over to defeat the Boxers 5-1 in men's soccer action on Sunday afternoon at East Field.

Kimball stunned the host Lutes with a goal just 1:30 into the match to give the Boxers a 1-0 lead. It was the third goal of the year for the sophomore, who also has an assist in 2015 to serve as the teams' leading scorer with seven points.

That lead held until right before the half when PLU's Todd Hoagland tied the match in the 44th minute. Six minutes after the halftime break, Rio Alcorta gave the Lutes the lead for good. In all, five different Pacific Lutheran players would find the net. Boxer keeper Alex Pells, making his collegiate debut, helped limit the damage with five saves.

The Boxers started eight freshmen in the match.

"We started very well and played with quality for the first 25 minutes," said Pacific head coach Eric Mild. "After that we just let them dictate play for the entire match. PLU is a fantastic team and they punished us for our lack of experience."

The win was the third straight for PLU and they improved to 5-2 overall, 2-0 in Northwest Conference play. Pacific is now 2-5 this fall and 0-2 in league action.

"This is one that I want the boys to remember vividly so we can be motivated to make sure we never experience this again."
