COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. - Shaking off nearly two weeks of rust, the Pacific University women's basketball team cruised to a 78-35 non-conference victory on the road over Walla Walla University.
The Sunday afternoon win for the Boxers at Windemuth Court allowed them to improve to 5-6 on the season. The Wolves, of the NAIA Cascade Conference, remain winless at 0-12.
It was Pacific's first game since December 21.
Sarah Curl led the Boxers with 22 points and seven rebounds, hitting 11 of her 16 shots from the field.
Karli McHone added 14 points on five-for-six shooting, including four-for-five from three-point range. She also had four assists.
Jordan Oster had nine points and three steals off the bench.
Kassidy Kuykendall had 12 points to lead Walla Walla.
Walla Walla jumped out to a 4-2 lead, but Pacific soon found its groove on a 9-0 run and they never trailed again. They took an 18-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and would stretch that margin to 43-17 at the break, outscoring their hosts 28-9 in the second period.
The Boxers would lead by as many 46 points. They hit 11 of 25 trey launches and outrebounded the Wolves 38-31.
